2. Before installing the serpentine belt, make sure that all sub-assemblies (generator, power steering

pump) are tight. Place serpentine belt on belt pulley with vibration damper. Lift tensioning roller with

Lever Tool (3299). Install belt. Slowly release Lever Tool (3299) to re-apply tension to belt. For

vehicles with air conditioning, please note the following procedure to install belt:

First place the serpentine belt on tensioning roller (1), then on generator (2), idler roller (3),

vibration damper (4), idler roller (5) and as far as possible on air conditioner compressor (6).

Grasp the serpentine belt with both hands and slowly pull it over power steering pump. See

Turn engine over by hand in engine direction of rotation and make sure serpentine belt seats

correctly in the running grooves in the belt pulley.
